“Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep” (John 10:7).
“And I will place on his shoulder the key of the house of David. He shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open” (Isa. 22:22).
Christ is the great ‘I AM’ and I am the derived ‘I am’, because I am joined to Him. Therefore I am the light of the world, the salt of the earth, because HE IS the light and the salt. Likewise, because Christ IS the door, I am the door too, in the same way that HE IS the light, because “as He is, so also are we in this world” (1 John 4:17b). We are the light and the door in this world as He lives His life as me.
When we look at the circumstances, it seems that people open and close doors, and we may like or dislike them for doing so. But that isn’t the life of faith. Faith says that Christ IS the door and we are in Him. That door is always opened or closed at the right moment. Christ is the door to salvation, to eternal salvation, but also to my present salvation as it pertains to my daily walk in Him.
“In God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 56:11).
Never look at man as a door, because else we may hate him when the door closes. We walk in Him and see “God only” working through our environment. We have our movement and our being in Him.
So relax, in God we trust.
